04. Halikounas - Vouniatades

Once more we start our day by walking along the absolutely deserted beach. About halfway to the end, we pass a small bar with some umbrellas and a very very cute and soft little puppy who would probably have followed us until the end of his days if his owner hadn't distracted him enough for us to leave.
As we reach the end of the beach, we follow the markings along minor roads until there is a broken-off section. We can pass along the fence through the shrubbery, and just behind we find a beautiful resting spot with a tap, a tree shadowing a bench with a round table and a nice view down to the sea. Some 50 meters further rusty (and not at all trustworthy) stairs lead down to a tiny and rocky "beach", inviting us for a short swim.
Later we continue walking through olive groves until we reach Paramonas, a small and quiet coast village. Taverna Plori offers cheap and excellent freshly prepared Greek food and is certainly worth a visit.
After lunch we take on the long and steep ascent up to Ano Pavliana. A small shop offers a small selection of food (and limo), so we happily continue down into a valley with our new treasures and set up our tents shortly before Vouniatades .
