Corfu Trail 2017

After a long and cold winter in northern Sweden, this summer absolutely called for a sunny hike in Greece. My brother and cousin agreed, so we decided to give the Corfu Trail a go, since it has plenty of nice beaches, resupply options and is just generally easy and laid-back. Turned out to be a really good decision, we absolutely enjoyed walking until blisters called for a drop-out. As it was the other two's first multi-day hike, I'm very proud of them to get that far without any major complaints, injuries or anything else!

As for the trail itself, there's not much to say. The markings are often well-hidden or lacking, but with a GPS track we managed to find everything quite easily. It's more shady than one would expect of Greece, the island is really green - perfect summer trail. Shops for water and food as well as taverns can be found aplenty, as can beaches. The trail is mostly very good to walk and mostly leads along well trodden paths or minor (dust) roads. Wild camping is tolerated, and LNT should be a must anyway (no fires!). Overall I don't think there is anything bad to say about the Corfu Trail.

Anyway, have fun skipping through the subpages and looking at the photos!
