Lapland 2016/2017

I lived Kiruna in northern Sweden in 2016 and 2017 for studying, so I obviously explored the area thoroughly. Popular hiking areas like the Abisko National Park, the Kebnekaise Area and even the Lofoten are quite easy to reach from there, offering a lot of opportunities near the coast or in the mountains.

Even though I didn't plan so in the first place, me and some classmates ended up doing some winter hiking at temperatures down to -15°C and went up Kebnekaise, something I originally wanted to do in summer. Being way harder to reach in winter, it was an even more rewarding experience! I also did some shorter winter hikes, although I have to say hiking in summer is much easier and more comfortable.

In summer we went on a short trip to the Lofoten (where we had some luck and a day with nice weather) and on some more short hikes. Feel free to have a look through the subpages and enjoy the photos.
