Yesterday was our only rest day on this hike. We stayed at the campsite all day long - washing clothes, enjoying warm showers, playing cards and of course playing with the cute cats which somehow
happen to be everywhere.
So today we are rested and eager to continue walking - starting with a nice uphill section. We get some good views down to Palaeokastritsa before we reach Krini and start to descend again. A nice
old mule path leads down to Agios Georgios (North), again offering awesome views to closeby small islands. Shortly before reaching this quite touristy town, we enjoy a quick swim at a tiny
deserted pebble beach with incredibly turquoise water. However, without any shade closeby we keep it short and enjoy lunch at some taverna near the beach.
After filling our reserves in the local mini market, we walk through the quiet countryside - up and down, up and down until we finally reach Agros. If anybody can tell me why there is a torpedo
in front of the church, I'm burning to know.
In the village a small mini market provides all one could ask for - we've never seen such a small room filled with so many goods. The shopkeepers are very nice as well, offering some fresh figs
from their garden.
Now we're just looking for a reasonable spot for the night... doesn't turn out to be that easy sometimes. We have to walk quite a bit, but finally find a deserted olive grove a bit away from the
streets.
